Unsafe product: This cosmetic cream has been found to contain excessive mercury.

The Centre for Health Protection warns consumers not to use facial cream Te Xiao Mei Bai Delete Freckle King which has been found to contain a very high level of mercury.

 

A 56-year-old woman was admitted to Prince of Wales Hospital for skin inflammation on March 16. She had used the product for three days in early March. She has recovered and was discharged March 27.

 

The source of the product is still under investigation. The case has been referred to the Customs & Excise Department.

 

People using the cream should stop and seek medical advice.
