Woman with swine flu dies

Hospital Authority

An 85-year-old woman with human swine flu and chronic illness has died in Tuen Mun Hospital.

 

The patient, bed-ridden and fed by tube, attended Pok Oi Hospital's Accident & Emergency Department on December 22 with a fever and acute shortness of breath.

 

She tested positive for human swine flu and was transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital where she was prescribed Tamiflu and antibiotics.

 

Her condition deteriorated and she required ventilation support. She died at 3am today.
