HK rowers win 5 EAG medals

Men's lightweight double sculls

Hong Kong won another nine medals today at the 2009 East Asian Games, with its rowers taking a gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

 

Chow Kwong-wing and So Sau-wah grabbed the gold in the men's lightweight double sculls with a time of six minutes 13.69 seconds, 2.12 seconds ahead of the Mainland pair Sun Jie and Wang Tiexin.

 

The two silver medals came from Lau Ching-man, Lee Yuen-yin, Tong Siu-man and Wong Jing in the women's lightweight quadruple sculls, and Lee Ka-man in the women's lightweight single sculls.

 

The rowing team won two bronze medals in the men's lightweight four (Kwan Ki-cheong, Leung Chung-ming, Lo Ting-wai and Tang Chiu Mang) and men's lightweight single sculls (Lok Kwan-hoi).

 

Hong Kong won another four bronze medals in wushu in the taolu women's changquan (Zheng Tian-hui), taolu men's changquan (Leung Ka-wai), and in athletics in the women's 3,000m steeplechase (Yiu Kit-ching) and decathlon (Ng Chit-wing).

 

Hong Kong so far has won 11 gold, 18 silver and 32 bronze medals, making it fourth in the medal tally.
