Free pneumococcal vaccinations start
*
Department of Health

Children under two-years-old can get free pneumococcal vaccinations at the Department of Health's Maternal & Child Health Centres from today under the revised Childhood Immunisation Programme.

Hong Kong residents born on or after September 1, 2007, are eligible for the free jabs.

All babies born on or after July 1 this year will receive the first dose at the centres when they reach two months old.

Children born September 1, 2007, to June 30 this year who have a scheduled vaccination appointment between September and November will get the catch-up vaccination on the same date.

For children not having a scheduled vaccination appointment during the period, their parents or representatives should go to the centres to obtain an appointment.
