(Updated on April 30) Pfizer Corporate Hong Kong has voluntarily recalled a batch of anaesthetic injection commonly used for minor surgical procedures.
The product concerned is Lignocaine HCL Injection 1% with batch number DW21 and registration number HK- 46784.
The recall was made after Queen Mary Hospital found a bottle of Sodium Chloride Intravenous Infusion 0.9% inside a 10-bottle pack of Lignocaine HCL Injection 1% by yesterday.
The Department of Health investigation found the batch of 5,890 bottles was manufactured and packed in Australia. It was imported to Hong Kong last November with 5,096 bottles supplied to the Hospital Authority, private hospitals and private doctors.
Doctors are advised to stop using the product and can call hotline 8101 1593 for enquiries.
