*
Centre for Health Protection

The Coroner's Court will investigate the death of a five-year-old boy who came down with influenza and died in Yan Chai Hospital today.

He developed a fever and cough February 26 and was admitted to Yan Chai Hospital today. He had history of spinal muscular atrophy, a chronic neuromuscular disorder.

Initial tests found the influenza-A virus. His family members have no symptoms.

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating the flu outbreak at the Shek Kip Mei childcare centre the boy attended.

Twelve students and three staff have developed symptoms since February 25. The school has suspended lessons for a week for thorough disinfection.
