Free admission scheme well-received

Leisure & Cultural Services Department

The three-month Leisure Facilities Free Admission Scheme was well-received on its first day, with admissions to 36 swimming pools up 40% on the same period last year, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department says.

Yesterday saw close to 95,000 admissions to public swimming pools, with 15 reaching their maximum capacity causing admission flow controls to be implemented.

Other land-based venues and water sports centres under the scheme were also popular, with more than 80% of the facilities being booked in advance.

The scheme will run until September 30. For enquiries click here or call 2414 5555. Bookings can be made here or on 2927 8080.
