Girl infected with EV-71

Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed a case of enterovirus-71 infection involving a 10-year-old girl, bringing the year's total to 55.

 

She developed fever, oral ulcers and rash over her hands and feet on June 17 and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital on June 18. She is now in stable condition.

 

There were 12 and 16 EV-71 infection cases in 2007 and 2006.
