Food poisonings affect 12 travellers
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has been notified of two food poisoning outbreaks involving 12 people who fell ill while travelling in Thailand.

The four men and eight women, aged seven to 56, were members of two tour groups organised by the same travel agency. They departed for Thailand November 4 and 6.

Six members of the first group developed diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fever and vomiting November 6. Six members of the other group developed similar symptoms three days later.

Nine sought medical treatment upon their return to Hong Kong. They are all stable and no hospitalisation was required.
