Winning HK athletes applauded

Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing has commended Hong Kong athletes So Wah-wai, Steven Wong and Marco Fu for winning recent international sporting events.

 

So won two gold medals and broke world records in the men's T36 100 metres and 200 metres events in the 2007 Japan Paralympic Athletics Championships.

 

Wong won the gold medal in the Cycling - Men's BMX event in the 6th National Cities Games on the Mainland October 22, while Fu won snooker tournament the Royal London Watches Grand Prix.

 

"I am thrilled at their achievements. The athletes' outstanding performance has fully demonstrated their tenacity and unremitting efforts to excel," Mr Tsang said.
