Boy ill with Dengue fever
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed a Dengue fever case involving a 13-year-old boy who fell ill after travelling to Cambodia with his mother, bringing the year's total to 38, all imported.

He visited the country August 10 to 17 and developed a fever, dizziness, nausea, vomiting and a skin rash on August 21. He was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital August 28 and is in stable condition.

His mother also developed symptoms and is staying at the same hospital. Laboratory tests for her are in progress. The centre is contacting their travel companions.
