Man confirmed to have Legionnaire's disease
*
Centre for Health Protection

A 55-year-old man has been confirmed as the year's seventh case of Legionnaire's Disease, the Centre for Health Protection says.

The man, a resident of Central & Western District, developed fever, chills and stiffness  on June 6. He visited a public clinic on June 11 and 12, and recovered without hospitalisation.

The centre learned he had travelled to Italy from May 24 to June 3, and is following up on the health condition of his travel companions.

Two cases of Legionnaire's were reported in 2000, three in 2001, four in 2002, three in 2003, three in 2004, 11 in 2005 and 16 in 2006.
