Kan Hing-fook's photos go on show

 

A photo exhibition showcasing 30 works by acclaimed photographer Kan Hing-fook will be held at Hong Kong International Airport until the end of September.

 

The Palette of Lights & Colours exhibition is located at the departure hall of Aisles A and K in Terminal 1.

Famed photos: Water Palette (1953), Hong Kong at its Peak (2005); and Heroes (2002) are among Kan Hing-fook's works on display at the airport.

Born in Kong Kong in 1921, Kan studied painting at the Shanghai School of Fine Arts. He obtained the honour of being a cornerstone member of Photographic Society of America and received his first award in the International Photographic Salon in Singapore at 30.

 

Water Palette won the Gold Medal Award of the VIII International Salon Photographic Exhibition in 1954, making him the first Chinese the receive the award.

 

The photo was also chosen as a classic photographic work in China in the 20th century by the National Cultural Promoting Commission of the Ministry of Culture.
