Three turbot fish samples taken from Aberdeen Wholesale Fish Market have been confirmed free of malachite green and chloramphenicol, but contained trace amounts of nitrofurans.

The Centre for Food Safety said the level of nitrofurans detected were low enough that normal consumption of the fish would not harm health.

The centre has advised the stalls to stop selling turbot fish, and urged traders to suspend importing or selling it.
