Boy Joy
Drug alert: Proprietary Chinese medicine Boy Joy has been recalled.
*

Consumers are urged to stop taking proprietary Chinese medicine Boy Joy as it contains potentially hazardous ingredients that can cause side effects.

The distributor has been ordered to recall the product. The department has received no reports of adverse drug reactions linked to it so far. Tests on three samples showed it contained sildenafil and hydroxyhomosildenafil.

Silfenafil is a Western drug ingredient used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Its side effects include low blood pressure and transient vision disturbances.

Hydroxyhomosildenafil is an analogue of sildenafil and its safe use has not been properly evaluated worldwide.

People should return the product to the distributor. Call the distributor's hotline 2648 8841 for enquiries.
