Pork seller prosecuted

*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department reminds meat-stall operators that the sale of fresh and chilled meat on the same premises is prohibited without a licence and the chilled meat must be pre-packaged.

The department has prosecuted the operator of a stall in Yeung Uk Road Market, Tsuen Wan, after he was found selling fresh and unpackaged chilled pork on the same premises, breaching the Food Business Regulation.

It warned that offenders are liable to a $50,000 fine and six months jail. The Yeung Uk Road Market stall operator may also have his tenancy agreement terminated.
