The Centre for Health Protection is probing the food poisoning of 11 people who ate at a Cheung Sha Wan restaurant on June 21.
A man and 10 women, aged 23 to 42, developed diarrhoea, abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea and fever after having lunch there. Their symptoms were generally mild. Two sought treatment from private doctors and none required hospitalisation.
Initial investigations show bacteria is the likely cause.
The public, especially food handlers, should observe good personal and environmental hygiene. Click here for more tips on preventing food-borne disease.
