Mai Po Nature Reserve re-opens
*
AFCD

Mai Po Nature Reserve, which has been closed since early February, will re-open tomorrow, along with all aviaries managed by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department.

As there has not been any new cases of birds infected with the H5 virus for the past 21 days, which is the World Organisation for Animal Health's standard for an avian influenza infection-free place, Mai Po will re-open to the public.

However, people should remain alert and observe good personal hygiene, avoid contact with wild birds, and wash hands thoroughly after contact with them.
