Green Alert issued at Princess Margaret Hospital
*
Hospital Authority

Princess Margaret Hospital has activated the Green Alert infectious disease response as five babies have come down with diarrhoea.

Aged 61 days to six months, the two boys and three girls have tested positive for rotavirus and are receiving isolated treatment. All are stable. Two fell ill on December 11, another two on December 13 and the remaining one today.

The hospital and the Centre for Health Protection decided to activate the Green Alert to implement the restricted supervised visiting policy. Visitors have to register and wear appropriate protective equipment with immediate effect.

No new case will be admitted to the affected ward. Designated nursing staff are assigned at the ward to reinforce infection control measures.
