Seven men and five women, aged between 25 and 33, have been involved in a suspected outbreak of food poisoning after having meals at a restaurant in Mong Kok on November 23 and 24.
The Centre for Health Protection said they developed diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever and vomiting about 10 to 20 hours after having meals at the restaurant in a Mong Kok shopping arcade. Some of them sought medical treatment from public hospitals or private clinics.
They are in stable condition and none requires hospitalisation.
The centre's investigations suggested this was an outbreak of bacterial food poisoning. Stool samples will be collected from the patients and further investigations are in progress to determine the source of the outbreak.
