The Sheung Wan Promenade, a three-month holiday bazaar, will be launched near Western Market on general holidays from Sunday to promote tourism and the local community economy.
The promenade will operate from 11.30am to 5.30pm on Sundays, except November 23, and public holidays until January 18 next year at the pedestrianised section of Morrison Street and Wing Lok Street.
Carnivals on different themes such as fight crime, civic education, fire safety and dried seafood and Chinese medicine will be staged.
There will also be stalls selling a variety of hand-made arts and crafts items and nostalgic Chinese snacks.
Cultural and variety programmes, including acrobatic performances, magic shows, dances and musical performances will be presented for the public.
The project is organised by the Sheung Wan Promenade Organising Committee and the Central & Western District Office.
Enquiries can be made to the district office at 2852 3464.
