Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Dr Yeoh Eng-kiong will lead a delegation to Guangzhou on September 7 to visit the Health Department of Guangdong Province.

Both parties will discuss the implementation of the communication mechanism of infectious diseases between the two jurisdictions.

Dr Yeoh will meet the department's director-general Dr Yao Zhibin, and visit the province's Centre for Disease Control & Prevention.

Short-term exchange programmes for public health officers, as well as enhancement of scientific and academic collaboration between the two jurisdictions will also be on the agenda.

The delegation includes Deputy Director of Health Leung Pak-yin and Consultant (Special Preventive Programme) Dr Lee Shui-shan.

Dr Yeoh will return to Hong Kong on the evening of September 8.
