Atypical pneumonia
*
Hospital visitors urged to come forward
*
Department of Health

People who have visited Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in Tai Po or United Christian Hospital in Kwun Tong are urged to contact the Department of Health as some hospital staff there are suspected of contracting atypical pneumonia.

Visitors to the following wards during the specified periods should call 187 2222, a hotline manned daily between 9 am and 7 pm, as soon as possible so that the department can monitor their health situation:

Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital

* Ward E1 - March 21 to April 3

* Ward E3 - March 23 to April 3

* Ward E6 - March 27 to April 3

United Christian Hospital

* Ward 12A - March 24 to April 2

Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales Hospital will resume full accident and emergency services from 9am on Sunday. If required, patients requiring admission after consultation may be transferred to other hospitals.

As the United Christian Hospital is treating some 160 suspected or confirmed atypical pneumonia patients, all patients requiring admission after initial treatment at the accident and emergency department will be transferred to to other hospitals.
