Hong Kong Central Library records 10-millionth reader
Avid reader: Tsang Tsz-kiu, the Central Library's 10-millionth visitor, is congratulated and presented a certificate and gift by Acting Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Choi Suk-kuen.

A frequent reader of Central Library's books, Tsang Tsz-kiu was thrilled to have learned that he was its 10-millionth visitor.

Tsz-kiu, 16, usually borrows Chinese detective and martial arts novels, which he says inspires his own creative writing. He's also a regular in the Young Adult Lending & Reference Library to do his school projects.

Chief Librarian Alima Tuet said the response from the public since its opening in May 2001 has been overwhelming, recording an average daily patronage of over 16,000.

She said the library will continue to enhance its services, enrich its stock and strengthen its co-operation with more Mainland and overseas libraries and cultural institutions to better serve readers.
