Hong Kong Observatory

August was hotter and sunnier than usual with a monthly mean temperature of 28.8 degrees Celsius, 0.4 degrees above normal, the Hong Kong Observatory says.

 

The total bright sunshine duration was 213.4 hours, 12% above normal.

 

The month was also drier than usual. The total rainfall in the month was 350.3mm, about 21% below the normal figure of 444.6mm.

 

The accumulated rainfall since January 1 was 1,705.3mm, 9% below the normal figure of 1,873.7mm.
