19 beaches rated good

*
Environmental Protection Department

Environmental Protection Department has rated water quality at 19 beaches as 'good' for this weekend, with 12 fair and two poor.

Compared to last week, Lower Cheung Sha Beach was upgraded from fair to good, Kadoorie Beach rose from poor to fair, Silver Mine Bay Beach was downgraded from good to fair, while Big Wave Bay Beach went from very poor to poor.

Seven gazetted beaches - Anglers', Approach, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan, Lido and Ting Kau - are closed to swimmers year round because of poor water quality.
