Water quality at 27 beaches 'good'

*
Environmental Protection Department

Water quality at 27 beaches has been rated 'good' and six 'fair' for this weekend.

Shek O and Silverstrand Beach have been upgraded from fair to good. Cafeteria New Beach and Kadoorie Beach have been downgraded from good to fair.

Seven beaches - Anglers', Approach, Casam, Gemini, Hoi Mei Wan, Lido and Ting Kau - are closed to swimmers year round because of poor water quality. People should not swim at these beaches.

People should also avoid swimming at beaches for up to three days after a storm or heavy rainfall.
