Stanley Prison home to temperature station

New temperature station in Stanley

New venue: The automatic temperature station was placed near Stanley's town centre.

*

The Hong Kong Observatory has launched a new automatic temperature station inside Stanley Prison - about 800m from the Stanley town centre - to replace the one at Bluff Head near Stanley.

The public can now access temperature information from the new station through the observatory's regional weather webpage and the dial-a-weather service at 187 8200.

Observatory Director Dr Lee Boon-ying said data from the new station can better reflect the temperature variation felt by Stanley's residents and visitors.

The observatory thanks the Correctional Services Department for its full support and co-operation in enabling the successful relocation of the temperature station.
