Green guide: Field Guide to Trees in Hong Kong's Countryside features 196 species of trees in Hong Kong's countryside, including Archidendron clypearia (centre) and Sterculia lanceolata (right). | |
The species are arranged according to plant families, grouping similar species together for easy reference and comparison.
A photo key is also included so readers can differentiate tree species by making use of the easily observable features of leaf shapes, leaf arrangement and leaf margins.
The guide supplements plant checklists and Flora of Hong Kong in providing colour photographs of local trees.
The Field Guide to Trees in Hong Kong's Countryside is on sale at the Government Bookstore's website for $132 (softcover) and $220 (hardcover), and at the Information Services Department's exhibition booth at the Book Fair from July 23 to 29 at the Convention & Exhibition Centre.
