The Environmental Protection Department recorded 57 pollution convictions in May.

Twenty-six were for air pollution, 23 for waste disposal, five for water pollution, two for noise, and one under the Ozone Layer Protection Ordinance.

A person exporting controlled waste without a permit and failing to engage the services of a waste collector received a concurrent sentence of two months' imprisonment for each offence.
