Waste disposal
*
2 sewerage schemes approved
*
Drainage Services Department

The Chief Executive-in-Council has authorised the Sham Tseng Sewerage Stage 3 and Ting Kau Sewerage Stage 2 schemes.

Works at Sham Tseng will see the construction of 5.5km of sewers and a new sewage pumping station, while Ting Kau will get 1.6km of sewers, 100 metres of twin pressurised mains and a new sewage pumping station.

The schemes will convey sewage collected from Sham Tseng, Tsing Lung Tau, Ting Kau and adjacent areas to Sham Tseng Sewage Treatment Works for proper treatment and disposal.

They will provide a system for sewage collection and reduce pollution of the coastal area and Tsuen Wan beaches.

The works, conducted by the Drainage Services Department, will start in February and take about three years to complete.
