LegCo polling day may be a rainy day

*

There is a 60% chance that there will be rain on September 12 - the day of the Legislative Council elections, Observatory Director Lam Chiu-ying says.

Speaking to the media after participating in a radio talk show this morning, Mr Lam said he does not expect the rain will be heavy. There is just a 10% chance of that.

However, the chance that the rainfall will reach 5 millimetres or more is about 30%.

To help the local windsurfer Lee Lai-shan know what to expect weather-wise at the Olympic Games in Athens, the Observatory has been in touch with her and updated her on the daily weather there.
