Getting the message out: Education & Publicity Sub-committee chairperson Christine Fang briefs more than 80 representatives from more than 50 organisations at today's workshop on the fund's application and assessment procedures. |

Applications from groups and individuals for grants are being invited to undertake projects that will raise public awareness of sustainable development and promote sustainable practices in Hong Kong. About $7.25 million has been earmarked for the purpose.
The Council for Sustainable Development Education & Publicity Sub-committee chairperson Christine Fang said priority will normally be given to projects that will make a noticeable impact on the general public's awareness of sustainability in this second round of funding.
Application guidelines and forms had been revised and refined to give applicants clearer guidance on application submissions.
A set of pricing standards, setting limits for the budget cost of certain items of equipment and appropriate salaries for project staff, now forms part of the application guidelines to help applicants in drawing up detailed budgets for their proposals.
Deadline: September 30
The deadline for submissions is 5pm on September 30.
More details are available at www.susdev.gov.hk. Applicants are encouraged to submit applications online.
For enquiries, call the Sustainable Development Unit at 3150 8192 or by email to sdf@sdu.gov.hk.
The first round of applications opened in September last year, with 127 applications received. A total of eight projects were approved at a cost of $7.75 million.
