Vice-President at banquet

'Here's to HK': Vice-President Zeng Qinghong proposes a toast at his welcoming banquet.

*

Vice-President Zeng Qinghong has urged Hong Kong's various sectors to work together to build a prosperous and harmonious city.

Speaking at a welcoming banquet, he said the Central Government has listed the 'One Country, Two Systems' and 'Hong Kong people governing Hong Kong with a high degree of autonomy' principles as long-term national policy.

Mr Zeng said the Central Government will handle Hong Kong affairs according to the Basic Law, and support the local government in administering affairs according to law and improve its governance.

It will push ahead with Hong Kong and Mainland ties in economic, trade, science, education, public health, sports and other fields. And it will further implement CEPA.

Mr Zheng urged Hong Kong people to grasp opportunities to speed up development.

Chief Executive Donald Tsang said Hong Kong's economy will grow on all fronts and the city's strengths will continue to develop.

"This is due to a collective effort by the community and the Government, as well as the great care and staunch support of the Central Government," he said.
