New e-trade service provider offers choice
*
Customs & Excise Department

A new service provider, Global e-Trading Services Limited, will start providing the Government Electronic Trading Services for the submission of Dutiable Commodities Permit applications from tomorrow.

The move marks the introduction of competition in the government electronic trading service market.

Currently, Tradelink Electronic Commerce Limited provides electronic services for submission of Dutiable Commodities Permit applications.

The department expects that competition between the two service providers will bring benefit to traders in terms of a wider choice of service providers, more competitive prices and improvement in the quality of services.

Details of the services provided by Global e-Trading Services can be obtained from http://www.ge-ts.com.hk, and those provided by Tradelink at http://www.tradelink.com.hk/eng/index.html.
