Set in stone: Nine of Hong Kong's top movie talents contribute handprints for the Avenue of Stars.

*

Nine of Hong Kong's top movie talents have contributed handprints for the Avenue of Stars.

The first hand imprint ceremony for the up-coming tourist attraction, based on Hollywood's famous Walk of Fame, was held today.

Jimmy Wong, Ti Lung, Woo Fung, Michael Hui, Connie Chan, Tso Tat-wah, Raymond Chow, Chor Yun and Patrick Tse dipped their hands into wet concrete to immortalise their celebrity status on the walk.

All are household names in Hong Kong who have helped make our film industry one of the world's biggest.

Tourism Board Chairman Selina Chow, New World Group Chairman Dr Cheng Yu-tung, Commissioner for Tourism Eva Cheng, Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Anissa Wong and HK Film Awards Association Chairman Manfred Wong officiated at the event.

The walk will be constructed on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront promenade.

The next two hand-imprint ceremonies are scheduled for November and December. The avenue will be completed and open in the second quarter of next year.
