No quarantine for HK people returning to Shanghai

*

Hong Kong people returning to work in Shanghai do not need to be quarantined for 14 days.

The Shanghai Municipal People's Government said they are only required to go through health checks and declare their health condition upon arrival.

The amended SARS preventive measures, which took effect today, require those with close contacts with SARS patients and suspected ones to be quarantined.

The new policy also allows companies to organise employee trips to areas without SARS cases, or places free of SARS for 20 days.

Passengers on non-commercial vehicles and taxies are no longer required to fill out health declaration forms before leaving Shanghai.
