Fiscal deficit stood at $77.3 billion

The Government announced that, as at December 31 last year, its fiscal deficit and reserves stood at $77.3 billion and $295.2 billion respectively.

 

Announcing its financial results for the nine months ended December 31 last year, the Government revealed that its expenditure for the period April to December 2002 amounted to $177.6 billion and revenue to $100.3 billion.

 

A Government spokesman said the Financial Secretary will provide an up-to-date assessment of the likely deficit for the current financial year in his Budget Speech on March 5.
