Tech chief hails Chinese University students
*

Acting Commissioner for Innovation & Technology Andrew Lai has congratulated Chinese University students for winning the Hong Kong & Macau District Trophy in the 11th Challenge Cup.

The cup is a national competition of extra-curricular academic and technological projects by university students.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the Student Achievements in Innovation & Entrepreneurship Exhibition 2010 today, Mr Lai said winning the championship four times in a row is a marvellous achievement by the university.

It shows the students' outstanding innovative and entrepreneurial spirit as well as the strong inspiration and support of the university and its teachers, he added.

Noting innovation and technology is one of the six industries with great potential in Hong Kong, Mr Lai called for concerted efforts by all sectors to improve daily life and to promote the economy through innovation and creative ideas.
