Land Grant Scheme applications open
*

The Education Bureau has launched a new round of applications under the Land Grant Scheme and the Start-up Loan Scheme. The deadline is August 31.

Sites on Chung Hau Street in Ho Man Tin, Kwong Sin Street in Siu Lek Yuen, and Police School Road in Wong Chuk Hang are available. Their potential developable gross floor areas are 21,500, 11,200 and 23,000 square metres.

The bureau said a more diversified higher education sector will benefit students by providing them with more opportunities and a wider choice in pursuing higher education.

Applications from non-profit-making education institutions operating locally-accredited degree programmes are invited. Institutions can also apply for interest-free start-up loans to support college premises construction.

The bureau said the sites will be granted to successful applicants at nominal premiums through the Private Treaty Grant.

All applications will be considered on a competitive basis by an independent Selection Committee with official and non-official members. They will make recommendations to the Secretary for Education on the allocation of the sites.
