*

Prof Wong Po-choi has been reappointed Committee on Home-School Co-operation Chairman, the Education Bureau says.

Six new members have also been appointed - He Shi-lian, Dr Poon Bo-chiu, Dr Regina Ching, Dr Lilian Wong, Dr Alice Lee and Dr Gordon Tsui.

The appointments are for two years from September 1.

Permanent Secretary for Education Raymond Wong said with Prof Wong's profound knowledge and enthusiasm in education as well as its members' concerted efforts, the committee will continue with its achievements in enhancing home-school co-operation and promoting parent education.

The committee is tasked to promote home-school co-operation, to advise on ways to promote parent involvement in education, and to encourage the establishment of parent-teacher associations and federations of parent-teacher associations.

To date more than 90% of government and aided schools have formed their parent-teacher associations and 17 districts their federations of parent-teacher associations.
