Examinations

*
Mainland insurance exam enrolment opens
*

Enrolment for the Mainland Qualifying Examinations for Insurance Intermediaries will be held in Hong Kong from March 31.

This is one of the measures implemented under the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement allowing Hong Kong residents to obtain the basic required industry qualification for practising in the Mainland's insurance intermediary market.

The examinations comprise three tests for insurance agents, insurance brokers and loss adjusters.

The Vocational Training Council is the designated examination body in Hong Kong. Hong Kong residents can enrol with the council directly.

Apart from the qualifying certificate, Hong Kong residents must be employed by an authorised insurer or insurance intermediary company on the Mainland and obtain the relevant practising certificate before they are allowed to practise on the Mainland.
