*
Labour Department

The Labour Department will stage a job fair at Metro City Plaza in Tseung Kwan O on May 29, providing more than 2,000 vacancies.

Sixteen companies, mainly from the retail, catering and property management sectors, will set up counters and offer about 1,800 vacancies for on-the-spot recruitment.

Available jobs include shop supervisor, manager trainee, shopkeeper, cashier, customer service officer, waiter/waitress, security guard, cook, repair technician and aircraft engineering technician trainee.

About 85% of the vacancies are full-time jobs, with a monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $9,000. Most vacancies require Form 5 educational level or below. Job-seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.

Special panels will display more than 270 vacancies in 10 other companies. The department will conduct on-the-spot registration for job-seekers.

The job fair will run from 11am to 6pm at the Atrium on Level 1 of Metro City Plaza II, Tseung Kwan O, Kowloon. Admission is free.
