The results of Primary One discretionary places for next September will be released on November 20.
The Education & Manpower Bureau today said 24,298 applicants - about half of the total number of applicants - will be offered a discretionary place in government and aided primary schools.
Of them, 10,729 are applicants with siblings studying or parents working in the schools they have applied to, and the other 13,569 are selected according to the Points System.
Registration procedure
Parents should bring the parent's copy of the Application Form for Primary One Admission and check the results of their application between 9am and 5pm on November 20 or 21 at the school to which they have applied.
Registration of successful applicants should be made on November 22 or 23 during school hours.
Parents who cannot register within the specified period should notify the responsible person of the school in advance to make alternative arrangements. Otherwise, they will be deemed to have given up their discretionary place.
Central allocation Parents of the applicants who failed to secure a discretionary place or who opted only for Central Allocation will be invited in early January to make a choice of schools for Central Allocation at a designated Central Allocation Centre on January 20 or 21. Primary One places will then be allocated to these children in the Central Allocation exercise.
