Professor Arthur Li
Social call: Secretary for Education & Manpower Professor Arthur Li meets a youngster a Hoi Lai Estate.
*

Secretary for Education & Manpower Professor Arthur Li has visited Sham Shui Po to learn more about the district's residents and students.

During a tea gathering at Tack Ching Girls' Secondary School this morning, Professor Li talked with a dozen students, their parents and teachers. He was pleased to note that the bureau's many initiatives, especially the School-based After-school Learning & Support Programmes, were bearing fruit in alleviating inter-generational poverty and fostering the healthy development of students from disadvantaged families.

Professor Li also went to see how needy students' applications for grants and loans were handled at the Student Financial Assistance Agency at Cheung Sha Wan Government Offices.

He then visited Hoi Lai Estate to see leisure facilities for youngsters, before ending his tour with a visit to the Dragon Centre shopping mall.
