Applications invited to run int'l schools

*

Eligible school sponsoring bodies are invited to apply to run international schools at two premises in Kwai Tsing District.

The Education & Manpower Bureau said the allocation of vacant school premises can address the growing demand for international school places in a timely and cost-effective manner.

The two premises, to be vacated in September, are in Cheung Ching Estate. For details click here. They have been regularly maintained and are fit for school operation. The selected sponsoring bodies may, subject to the bureau's approval, carry out appropriate renovation works using their own funds.

Upon allocation and acceptance of the detailed terms and conditions by the bodies, the premises will be leased on a time-limited and renewable tenancy, initially for 10 years, at nominal rent.

Application details

Applicants should complete a form and submit it together with documents supporting their eligibility, and a detailed school proposal.

The bureau said applicants must operate in the said premises a school which will cater primarily to non-local students wishing to pursue a non-local curriculum and serve primarily primary or secondary students.

Visits to the premises will be arranged for early May. Applicants wishing to join should approach the bureau by May 6. Application forms and other reference materials can be downloaded from the bureau's website.

Applicant bodies are required to submit one copy of their application form and the supporting documents, together with 15 copies of the proposed school plan and executive summary to Room 1427, 14/F, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai by June 26. For enquiries, call 2892 5436 or 2892 6391.
