Matthew Cheung to attend labour meeting
*

Permanent Secretary for Economic Development & Labour Matthew Cheung will leave for Geneva on June 1 to attend the 93rd session of the International Labour Conference.

It runs from May 31 to June 16, and the agenda will include promoting youth employment and occupational safety and health.

Hong Kong will send a tripartite delegation to attend as advisers to the Chinese delegation. Led by Mr Cheung, the delegation will attend the plenary session and committee sittings.

Other Hong Kong members include Labour Department officials and Labour Advisory Board representatives, including Ho Sai-chu, Yeung Kwok-ki, Chen Cheng-jen, Poon Siu-ping, Wong Siu-han and Ip Wai-ming.

Through active participation in the activities of the International Labour Organisation, the Government keeps abreast of the latest developments in international labour standards and shares experience in labour policies and practices with other economies.
