Foreign domestic helpers will be paid $50 more from May 19, the Labour Department says, seeing their monthly pay rise to $3,320.

The new minimum wage will apply to contracts signed on or after that date. Contracts signed before then which are not lower than $3,270 per month will be processed by the Immigration Department, provided the application reaches it by June 15.
