Yuen Long job fair set for April 8
*
Labour Department

The Labour Department will hold a job fair offering about 1,500 vacancies for youths aged 15 to 24 at Yuen Long Town Hall on April 8, from 11am to 6pm.

This is the second in a series of youth job fairs in the New Territories jointly organised by the department's Youth Work Experience & Training Scheme, employers and social service organisations.

Fifteen employers will provide vacancies in posts like clerks, waiters, customer services and shop managers.

Most jobs offer salaries ranging from $5,000 to $7,000 and do not require experience. Job-seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. There will also be on-site career counselling.

The third job fair will be held in Cine Valley, Phase II, Kingswood Ginza, Tin Shui Wai, on April 22.

So far over 19,000 people have received training under the scheme, and 11,000 have secured jobs in the open market with the help of their case managers.
