The Standing Committee on Language Education & Research is inviting applications for grants to organise large-scale Putonghua promotion activities.
The committee will expand the scale of Putonghua promotions from individual projects that last for several months to a year-long programme covering the entire school year.
Local organisations with relevant experience and qualifications are invited to apply for grants to organise large-scale non-profit-making activities in the 2005-06 school year.
Proposal scope
Proposals can be submitted between March 16 and May 17, in the following areas:
* to organise Putonghua drama performances, training or competitions for secondary and primary students;
* to organise Putonghua student ambassador training programmes;
* to organise Putonghua broadcaster training classes or competitions for students;
* to organise Putonghua debate competitions or day camps for students;
* to organise award programmes for students, teachers or schools;
* to organise community Putonghua singing contests; or,
* to organise a large-scale prize presentation ceremony and performance show.
Vetting criteria
A vetting panel will be formed to review the proposals received according to their cost-effectiveness, creativity, feasibility and beneficiary coverage.
Applications can be submitted to the committee at Room 934, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East by 5pm May 17.
